We are just two minutes away from her house, and the memories come flooding back. I remember it being so mesmerizing back then, walking Aurora to her house when she was scared to walk after it got dark. The road leading to her house was the most scenic one in the neighborhood; I just liked it. But I loved it when I used to walk with Aurora alone on the road after it got dark. I wonder what she looks like now. She wasn't like any other blonde, blue-eyed girl called Aurora. She had grey eyes and smooth black hair, making her different from any other girl in the town.

"Okay, so y’all act normal. "Please, I beg you." "Don't do anything crazy inside." Isabella pleads. She really thinks we are going to mess up inside. I mean I won't but I am not sure about Diego.

"C'mon, it's not the first time," Diego laughs.

"I said act normal," Isabella explains.

"Define normal," Diego jokes again. Isa will probably cut him into two pieces if she loses her temper, but I have lost mine.

"Were you dropped on your head, Diego?" "This isn’t the time to be funny; everything has a limit, and you’ve reached yours, and if you want to be funny, stay outside!" I yell at him.

"Jeez, dude, okay, don’t act like my mom," he says, rolling his eyes.

"Then you shouldn’t act like a kid," I tell him.

"Don’t give me that deadly stare of your blue eyes, stop!" Diego finally gets irritated.

"All good?" "Let's go then," Isa says, pointing towards the gate.

I am so excited to meet Aurora. Does she remember me? Would she remember the days we spent together? But that's not the most important question.

Does she hate me?

As the door of her room creaked open, I could see her silk black hair untied, a sight that felt so familiar to me that I walked closer, my heart racing with anticipation. Books surrounded her in her cluttered room, but she was alone in a white nightgown, completely unaware of her surroundings. She looked up, and our eyes met, making me realize she saw me. She looks up, and her deep blue eyes stare into mine, sending a jolt of electricity through my body.

"Why did you come back?" She expresses it to someone and I wonder... I wonder who is that someone until her eyes meet mine filled with rage and sadness and that someone is me.

A piece of me just died.

t takes years to fix a broken heart, but only a few seconds to break it.

No wonder whoever said it experienced it. Such is the power of love that it can make us feel alive one moment and leave us broken the next.

Diego took me outside after what happened. He literally said, "We will go run some errands so you guys can talk," and pulled me outside the room.

"Dude, looking at you that time when Aurora said that really made me think you were going to cry." He says this while rubbing my back.

"I knew I was going to, but I didn't."

"What exactly did you do to offend her?" He asks me The question leaves me with a lot of hesitation.

"I left her; she had asked me to stay, but I left anyway. "

"What do you mean?" "It was the end of the holidays; you had to leave." Diego is in shock. He probably thinks that Aurora is mad at such a small thing.

"Last time I came here during Christmas, do you remember I left after a day?" I am about to cry. I came here to make the pain go away, but I ended up hurting myself. Instead of finding the peace and comfort I was searching for, I only found more pain.

"Why did you have to leave?"

"My parents died. I had a call. I had to go there for their funeral. I had to leave. and I didn't have a choice."

Diego didn't know they were gone. Isabella doesn't know they are gone. Aurora doesn't know they are gone.

"I'm sorry," he says.

"At least something is cleared up," I reply, knowing that he always wondered why I never came back.

"Well then, since you are back, why don't we just recreate the memories we made years ago?" Diego changes the topic. I agree to his suggestion, feeling a little overwhelmed by the emotion in the air.

I feel heartwarming as I realize that, although the years have passed, our bond remains unchanged.
